Cam (short for Camilla – but don’t call her Camilla – that is a right shared only by her grandma Clare and maybe the pope.)
Cam is excited to be doing her residency here at Babel. She worked hard and has big dreams. She wants to go into Pediatrics! Helping sick kids. What could be a better goal than that?
In fact, she was often sick as a child herself and her mother, Joanna, was a nurse. So she spent a whole lot of time in hospitals – usually in recovery.
Her mother was a wonderful nurse and because of her skill was able to spot conditions in Cam even when doctors found nothing wrong. (this was before WebMD people). Cam had the record for most spinal taps in six-months at Washington General- a dubious honor. Her house was filled with medical supplies that her mother borrowed from the hospital so she would be prepared for any of Cam’s sicknesses. She even employed some holistic medicines which personally, Cam would love to see introduced onto the scene. It’s not hoodoo if it works, people.
Now her mother needs her rest and Cam takes great care of her. Cam is less prone to illness these days but when she gets sick she has insurance because she worked for it! She wouldn’t dream of just going to the ER and running up a debt that she’d never pay off like some people. Because that’s just wrong.
